Cardiovascular disease and its systemic complications remain the leading cause of death for both men and women and has a significant impact on dental therapy. This Presentation explores the family of cardiovascular diseases (including hypertension, coronary artery disease, hyperlipidemia, and congestive heart failure) and the medications used in their treatment. You will explore patient management strategies essential for successful treatment planning. Special emphasis will be given to newly approved anticoagulant agents and their effect on dental therapy.
